With experience leading diverse teams and managing operations in nonprofit or mission-aligned sectors, you bring both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to align people, programs, and partnerships with organizational goals. You are deeply committed to educational equity and know how to translate that commitment into actionable programming, strong fundraising strategies, and cross-sector collaborations that serve historically marginalized communities.
You lead with emotional intelligence and understand how to build authentic relationships with staff, board members, educators, community partners, and students alike. You foster inclusive environments where difficult conversations lead to deeper trust, stronger decisions, and lasting change. You bring experience navigating a range of revenue and business models to ensure financial sustainability and are skilled at mentoring staff, partnering with a board, and building a thriving organizational culture rooted in shared responsibility, accountability, and belonging.
Position Overview
The Executive Director provides leadership and direction to the organization in realizing its mission and advancing its vision for students in Oregon. The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in building partnerships, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring that In4All's programs embody its core values of equity, inclusion, access, shared responsibility, responsiveness to diversity, and accountability for impact.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operations
Promote an equitable and inclusive workplace that supports staff, board and volunteer well-being, safety, collaboration and satisfaction.
Oversee daily operations and organizational decision-making in partnership with the Operations Director to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including taxes, registrations, and insurance policies.
Lead, coach, develop, and sustain In4All’s team to ensure healthy performance, professional development, and evaluation processes.
Lead the organization in fostering collaboration between industry and education, emphasizing shared responsibility for engaging students facing barriers rooted in historical marginalization.
Ensure successful programming that aligns with the values of equity, inclusion, and access, providing hands-on learning experiences for underserved students.
Fundraising and Financial Management
Manage the organization's budget effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible use of resources in line with shared responsibility principles.
In partnership with the Board and staff, develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that reflects In4All's commitment to equity and access.
Strong understanding of local fundraising opportunities and ability to lead staff and board to strengthen the individual, corporate and grant fundraising programs.
Build and administer the annual budget, with Board approval.
Provide oversight of the development and impact team to ensure revenue generation and fundraising activities support existing program operations and strengthen community connections.
Board Governance
Partner and develop a sustainable business model with board and staff to meet current and future organizational needs.
Collaborate and work closely with the Board of Directors, to leverage their expertise and networks for the benefit of In4All’s mission and goals.
Support the development and implementation of a strategic plan and ensure its alignment with In4All’s mission.
Partner with the board Governance committee to identify and help recruit additional Board members whose talents and commitment are consistent with the needs, mission, and future of the organization.
Partner with the Board of Directors and committees of the Board to ensure programs align with the organizational goals and are responsive to the needs of diverse communities.
Partnership Building & Community Relations
Serve as a main spokesperson for In4All, promoting awareness and advocating for the importance of our mission and values in student success.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, educational institutions, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with In4All's values.
Collaborate with businesses, schools, and community organizations to expand the reach and impact of In4All's programs, particularly in addressing issues of race, class, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other historically marginalizing factors.
Foster a sense of community among volunteers, students, and partners, emphasizing responsiveness to diversity and shared benefits.
Qualifications
Experience
BS/BA or the equivalent combination of education and professional and/or lived experience with a minimum of three years’ experience managing a non-profit. Experience managing operations in the for-profit sector will be considered.
Experience managing, coaching, and supporting diverse teams, including evaluating job performances of staff.
Evidence of leading others to embody the behaviors of accountability/reflection to communities, groups and individuals who are marginalized based on race, class, gender, gender identity, ability and other factors.
Experience in program development and management, preferably in the field of education or youth empowerment.
Passion for the mission of In4All and a commitment to advancing the organization's vision for a future of limitless possibilities.
Demonstrated success in financial management and fundraising, including individual and corporate gifts and grant writing, reflecting values of equity and shared responsibility.
Expertise and skills
Flexibility, confidence and the ability to work in a small, growing organization as an effective leader and productive participant in communication and decision-making.
Ability to foster a culture of openness and inclusivity while also encouraging challenging conversations and problem-solving.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Past success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
Physical Demands and Work Environment
All positions at In4All must meet Oregon school vaccination requirements.
This position will be required to perform job duties outside of the office on some weekdays (for meetings, classroom visits, networking, presentations), and occasionally evenings/weekends (business co-learner recruitment, annual event, back-to-school and/or community events at partner schools).
Ability to travel to communities across Oregon; a current Oregon driver’s license and vehicle access a must.
Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Ability to deliver (walk up and down flights of stairs) with heavy materials sometimes in inclement weather.
